Research Notes on Seasonal Affective Disorder and Tanning Beds
Treatment of seasonal affective disorder (SAD), includes light therapy or phototherapy via light therapy boxes and lamps. Some people may go to tanning salons to treat symptoms of SAD. It is not advisable to use tanning beds and booths for light therapy. Tanning beds produce UV light which are harmful to the skin and eyes.
