Research Notes on Saquinavir
Saquinavir is a medication which is classified as an antiretroviral protease inhibitor.1 It is used to treat HIV and is available in two different forms (hard or soft gels).1 Saquinavir works by slowing the spread of HIV within the body.2 Common side effects of saquinavir include high cholesterol, diarrhea, nausea and sometimes anxiety.3
Fast Facts:
- Also used to prevent HIV infection in health-care workers.4
- Should always be taken with Ritonavir.5
- Available as Invirase.
