Research Notes on SSRI Overdose
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are actually safer than other types of antidepressants when there is an overdose. Most patients will only have mild symptoms following an overdose. The treatment for SSRI overdose is normally supportive. Maintenance of the airways and ECG monitoring to detect any cardiac problems.1
