Research Notes on Rituxan
Rituxan is a brand name for the drug rituximab. It is used to treat non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and works by slowing down the growth of cancer cells in the body.1 For complete information, see the rituximab WisdomCard.
Fast Facts:
- Is only administered by injection into the vein.1
- Some side effects may include nausea, back pain, diarrhea, nasal congestion, and headache.1
- Approved by the FDA in November 1997.2
- When used along with methotrexate, it can reduce signs and symptoms and slow the progression of rheumatoid arthritis in some patients.
