Rheumatoid arthritis patients who are taking NSAIDs or other medications may develop edema.1 In addition, rheumatoid arthritis sufferers may develop peripheral edema due to inflammation in the ankles.2 Corticosteroids can be helpful in the treatment of edema in rheumatoid arthritis patients.1
