Research Notes on Rheumatoid Arthritis Prognosis
The prognosis for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) varies from person to person. RA is a progressive disease that typically can lead to joint destruction and deformity. In many cases, treatment may slow or stop this damage.1
Fast Facts:
- Treatment eases symptoms in three out of four people who suffer from RA.2
- Only about 10% of people with RA are eventually severely disabled.3
- The number of severe disabilities and life-threatening complications from RA appears to be decreasing with improvements in treatment.3
- If you think your symptoms may be indicative of rheumatoid arthritis, you can take an OranizedWisdom quiz to help shed light on whether or not you may have this condition.
