Research Notes on Relief of Shingles Symptoms
Although shingles is a self-limiting disease, proper intervention should be done in order to alleviate and ease symptoms. Doctors usually prescribe antiviral drug such as Acyclovir, Valacyclovir or Famciclovir which is usually taken 72 hours after the onset of rash. Aside from that, anti inflammatory drugs and pain relievers can also be used to reduce the swelling as well as the pain. Persons with shingles should consult their physician for proper treatment.
