Research Notes on REM Sleep
Rapid eye movement (REM) sleep is a normal sleep stage characterized by rapid movements of the eyes. Low voltage EEG's, and low muscle tone also characterize REM. REM sleep typically lasts for around 20-25% of total sleep (90-120 minutes).
