Research Notes on Quinidine
Quinidine is a medication used to treat irregular heartbeats and is derived from the bark of the cinchona tree.1 It can also be used to treat malaria.2 Common side effects include diarrhea, headaches, fatigue and insomnia.3
Fast Facts:
- Arrhythmia, chest pain, skin rash or hearing or vision changes should be reported immediately.3
- Avoid grapefruit juice while using quinidine.4
- Sold under brand names Quinaglute, Quindex, and Quinora.
