Research Notes on Pulmonary Embolism in Pregnancy
The leading cause of death in pregnancy is pulmonary embolism (PE). An increased chance of developing PE may be attributed to the body changes that occur in pregnancy such as increased clotting factors and blood vessel changes. Symptoms such as difficulty of breathing, chest pain or rapid breathing should receive immediate medical attention.
