Research Notes on Pulmicort Interactions
Pulmicort is known to have negative drug interactions with various medications. Although many medications are safely used together, some drug combinations can result in dangerous health complications. Always be certain that physicians and pharmacists are aware of all prescription, over-the-counter, herbal, and vitamin supplements before beginning Pulmicort therapy.1
Fast Facts:
- Protease inhibitors, such as amprenavir, atazanavir, fosamprenavir, indinavir, nelfinavir, and ritonavir, are known to negatively interact with Pulmicort.2
- Other drugs that can negatively interact with Pulmicort include: aldesleukin, azathioprine, cyclosporine, natalizumab, aspirin, NSAIDs, mifepristone, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, warfarin, ketoconazole, erythromycin, rifabutin, carbamazepine, and phenytoin.2
- Pulmicort is a brand name of the generic medication budesonide.2
