Research Notes on Psoriasis in Infants
Psoriasis is very rarely seen in infants and can often be misdiagnosed.1 The most common form of psoriasis seen in infants and children is plaque psoriasis which can affect the elbows, knees, scalp, lower back, and groin area.1 Common symptoms of plaque psoriasis include red patches on the skin, itching, and dry skin.2

- Most commonly seen in infants where there is a family history of psoriasis.1
- Common triggers include stress, strep throat, and simple injuries to the skin.1
- Adding oil to your infant's bath water and keeping the skin moisturized can help in treating infant psoriasis.3
