Research Notes on Psoriasis Types
Psoriasis types include plaque psoriasis, guttate psoriasis, pustular psoriasis, inverse psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and erythrodermic psoriasis. Psoriasis affects about two percent of the US population. Each type of psoriasis has its own symptoms and risks. They are related to rapid cell turnover.1
Fast Facts:
- The typical symptoms of psoriasis include red, dry, patches of skin and inflammation.2
- It is possible for one type of psoriasis to turn into another type.3
- The most common type of psoriasis is plaque psoriasis. It commonly affects the elbows, knees, knuckles, scalp, trunk, arms and legs.4
