Research Notes on Psoriasis Statistics
Statistics show that psoriasis is a very common affliction, which affects people all over the world.1 It is estimated that 2-3 percent of the world-wide population suffers from psoriasis, amounting to approximately 125 million people around the globe.1 Of those people, it is said that between 10 to 30 percent of this group will also develop psoriatic arthritis in their lifetime.1

- Psoriasis is categorized as either mild, moderate, or severe, depending upon the percentage of the body it affects.1
- Affects approximately 5.5 million Americans.2
- Both men and women are equally affected.2
- Psoriasis is rarely found in Japan and China, and amongst Eskimos and American Indians.3
