Research Notes on Plaque Psoriasis
Plaque psoriasis is one of the most common types of psoriasis. Circular or oval shaped patches of red silvery scales and inflammation is common with this type of psoriasis. The most common places for these patches to appear are on the arms, legs, trunk, or scalp.1
Fast Facts:
- About 80% of those suffering from psoriasis have plaque psoriasis.2
- Treatment for plaque psoriasis is mainly topical. These medications may include steroids and coal tar.3
- Psoriasis can affect anyone at any age. Typical onset is between the ages of 5 and 25.4
