Research Notes on Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a hyperproliferative skin disorder. It commonly causes red scaly plaques to appear on the skin. The scaly patches are areas of excessive skin production and inflammation. Skin rapidly accumulates at these sites and takes a silvery-white appearance. Factors thought to aggravate psoriasis include stress, excessive alcohol consumption and smoking.1
