Research Notes on Provigil Side Effects
As with any medication, there is a risk of experiencing side effects when taking Provigil. Common side effects of Provigil include back pain, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, nausea, nervousness, upset stomach, stuffy nose, and trouble sleeping.1 Contact your doctor if you experience potentially serious side effects such as chest pain, depression, anxiety, hallucinations, psychosis, mania, suicidal thoughts, aggression, or other mental problems.2
Fast Facts:
- Unusual bruising or bleeding, jaundice, mouth sores, dark urine, or red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin are also serious side effects that may be experienced when taking Provigil.1
- Seek immediate medical care if you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction such as hives, itching, difficulty breathing, problems with swallowing, or swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.1
- Talk to your doctor if any side effects of Provigil are bothersome.3
