Provigil is a brand name for the drug modafinil. This medication promotes wakefulness. It is used to treat excessive sleepiness caused by sleep apnea, narcolepsy, or shift work sleep disorder. For more information, see the modafinil WisdomCard.

- This medication can decrease the effectiveness of hormonal birth control.1
