Research Notes on Protriptyline
Protriptyline is a medication used to treat anxiety and depression, as well as narcolepsy and sometimes migraine headache pain. Sold under the brand name Vivactil, protriptyline can interact with various prescription and over the counter medications and herbal remedies.
Fast Facts:
- Store in a tightly closed container away from excess heat and moisture.
- Unlike most sedative type anti-depressants, protriptyline has been known to have an energizing effect.
- Side effects include nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth, and loss of appetite.
