Research Notes on Progesterone for PCOS
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is the most common cause of female infertility. About one in ten women of childbearing age has PCOS. It is a hormonal problem which causes a variety of symptoms, including irregular or no menstrual periods, Acne, Obesity, and Excess hair growth. Since women with PCOS always have low progesterone levels, some suggest that the use of progestrone may help with symptoms- however this has not been proven.
