Research Notes on Prenatal Ultrasound


Prenatal ultrasound test uses high-frequency sound waves non detectable to the human ear. Ultrasound is used during pregnancy to detect abnormalities and show images of the baby, amniotic sac, placenta and ovaries. An Ultrasound is conducted using a device called a transducer. The transducer is used with a gel as a conductive medium to aid in the quality of the image. Studies have shown ultrasound is not hazardous or harmful to you or your babies health.
