Research Notes on Prazosin
Prazosin is an alpha-blocker that is used to treat high blood pressure.1 Prazosin lowers blood pressure by widening the blood vessels.2 Weakness, headache, and nausea are potential side effects of using Prazosin.2 By lowering blood pressure, Prazosin decreases the risk of developing heart disease.1

- Prazosin is sold under the brand name Minipress in the U.S.1
- Prazosin is sometimes used off-label for other conditions, including enlarged prostate, pheochromocytoma, and Raynaud's disease.1
- Seek medical attention immediately if you experience hives, chest pain, or an irregular heartbeat.1
- Prazosin is not a cure for high blood pressure.
- Prazosin may be used alone or in combination with other drugs such as diuretics.1
