Postural Hypotension

Postural hypotension (also called orthostatic hypotension) is a form of low blood pressure that occurs suddenly when a person assumes a standing position. More common in older adults, postural hypotension occurs in more than 15% of those 65 or older.1 Although mild cases may need no treatment, more severe episodes may indicate an underlying health problem that needs to be addressed.1
