Research Notes on Polyps
A polyp is an abnormal growth of tissue (tumor) projecting from a mucous membrane. They are typically found in the colon, stomach, nose, urinary bladder and uterus but can elsewhere in the body where mucous membranes exist like the cervix and small intestine.

- Colon polyps are uncommonly associated with symptoms.
- Uterine polyps occur in 10% of women.
- Can be either a benign or malignant tumor.
