There are many types of treatment for plaque psoriasis including the use of steroids, drugs that suppress the immune system, phototherapy, topical creams and ointments, or even natural sunlight.¹ Plaque psoriasis, also known as psoriasis vulgaris, is the most prevalent form of the disease and occurs in about 80 percent of all psoriasis cases.² This form of psoriasis is characterized by raised, inflamed, red lesions covered by silvery white scales, and is typically found on the elbows, knees, scalp and lower back.²
