Pick's disease is named after Arnold Pick, the doctor who first described the disease in 1892. It is similar to Alzheimer disease. Pick's disease is a brain disorder that causes slowly worsening decline of mental abilities. Gradually it damages brain cells and impairs their function. It can be devastating for families.
