Pick's Disease Treatment

GuideWisdom™

This WisdomCard managed by: Tara Salamone

Pick's Disease is also known as frontotemporal dementia. It is named after Arnold Pick, the doctor who first described the disease in 1892. Although similar to Alzheimer disease, there are important clinical and histologic differences.1 Certain antidepressants may help manage mood swings related to Pick's disease; however, there is no highly effective treatment.2 This disease, as well as Alzheimer's, appears to be the focus of much research.3
