Pick's disease is named after Arnold Pick, the doctor who first described the disease in 1892. It is similar to Alzheimer disease. Pick's disease is a brain disorder that causes slowly worsening decline of mental abilities. Gradually it damages brain cells and impairs their function. Symptoms may include changes of personality and behavior and loss of intellectual abilities.
