Physical Therapy for Lower Back Pain

Research Notes on Physical Therapy for Lower Back Pain

Physical Therapy (PT) is a branch of medicine that blends Physiology with Kinesiology (the study of motion). A physical therapist is the one who evaluates and helps treat patients with back pain and other spinal problems. It can help reduce pain by using different cold or heating modalities. It can increase flexibility, build strength and even improve posture by prescribing an individualized PT exercise program and by teaching patients correct posture and body mechanics.
