There are various treatments for lung cancer, one of which is the photodynamic therapy. This type of treatment utilizes a certain type of light and photosensitizer drug.1 The drug is injected into the bloodstream and is absorbed by the cancer cells while the laser light activates the absorbed drug to destroy the cancer cells.2 It is very useful for inoperable lung cancers and is most effective in cancers affecting the bronchial tubes.3
