Research Notes on Personalized Cancer Treatment
New research may shift the direction of cancer treatment away from a one-size-fits-all approach to a tailored therapy. This therapy would be based on each tumor's genetic makeup. Currently, scientists are testing genetically tailored therapies for lung and breast cancer.1
Fast Facts:
- Studies on Vectibix and Erbitux show they do not work in 40% of colon cancer patients.2
