There are many known risk factors for peripheral artery disease (PAD). Some risk factors such as smoking, physical inactivity, obesity, high blood cholesterol, and high blood pressure are controllable.1 Other risk factors for PAD include diabetes, a family history of atherosclerosis, and a high homocysteine level.2
