Discontinuing Paxil too quickly may cause unpleasant side effects so it is important to work out a plan to stop with your doctor.1 Common withdrawal symptoms are blurred vision, decreased appetite, abdominal cramping, dizziness, insomnia, and headaches.2 Tapering Paxil doses slowly can cut down on the chances of going through withdrawal.3

- Paxil is used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder.4
- Rare side effects from withdrawal include seizures, fainting, itchiness, and tingling sensation in the face.2
