Painless Thyroiditis is also knowns as silent, subacute, or lymphocytic thyroiditis. The cause of it is not known. In painless thyroiditis hyperthyroidism, there is an inflammation of the thyroid gland; and a condition in which the thyroid is overactive (hyperthyroidism), it then depletes itself and the patient develops hypothyroidism, and then the thyroid returns back to the normal thyroid function.
