Research Notes on Overactive Bladder Symptoms
Overactive bladder, or urge incontinence, is a condition in which the muscle on the wall of the bladder contracts involuntarily, causing an abrupt and unstoppable urge to urinate. It is characterized by the following symptoms: frequent urination, urgency of urination, and urge incontinence. These symptoms should not be considered a normal part of aging, even if incontinence is common among the elderly. A health professional can help determine appropriate treatment to control these symptoms to avoid embarrassing situations.
