Research Notes on Osteopenia vs. Osteoporosis
The difference between osteopenia and osteoporosis is the level of calcium within the bones. These levels are determined by a bone density test. Osteopenia is a term used to describe thinning bones, while osteoporosis is a loss of bone mass.1
