Research Notes on Osteomalacia
Osteomalacia is a condition caused by vitamin D deficiency. It causes the bones to become soft and prone to bowing and fractures. Depending on the type of osteomalacia, one can take vitamin D, calcium, or phosphate supplements for treatment. Other treatments, such as wearing braces, surgery, and sun exposure may help correct or relieve the symptoms.
