Osteochondrosis is a group of diseases wherein a localized tissue death, also known as necrosis, occurs in a growing bone, specifically in the site where bone formation takes place. When there is not enough blood supply in the bone area, the result is tissue death. The etiology of this disease is still idiopathic or unknown. The singular term is osteochondrosis.
