Ortho-Novum is used for the prevention of pregnancy. It may also be utilized to regulate the menstrual cycle. However, it does not protect against HIV infection (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases. Some medical practioners recommend Ortho-Novum to treat severe acne.
