The OW WisdomCard Creation Process

1. Claim a topic on the Most Wanted List.

2. Conduct searches on your topic in Google, Healia, and Hakia. Remember that you may need to search for alternate terms, spelling or phrases to find the best content.

3. If you do not find the information in a Google search, that does not mean it is not there. Be sure to separately search for content in top health sites like Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, WebMD, MedlinePlus, eMedicine, and UpToDate if they did not show up in the initial search.

4. Be sure to check sites that are specific to a topic, such as government sites, foundations, and organizations.

5. Add links to the each section of the WisdomCard one by one, searching Google, Hakia, Healia, and other appropriate sites using variations on search terms to match the appropriate section header. Be sure to follow appropriate formatting procedures.

6. When copying a link's title, be sure to go back and remove all lower cased words and capitalize them in "book title" style format to keep your card uniform. Most links will already be formatted this way - so be sure to keep all links looking uniform.

7. Add appropriate icons. Be sure that the {{toppick}} icon is always is in the top two sections.

8. For Clinical Trials, use ClinicalTrials.gov and CenterWatch.com, as well as doing a quick search to see if trials are offered elsewhere.

9. Journals should include searches from JAMA, PubMed Central (PubMed Central Instructions (Take 3)), and Google Scholar. While searching if you find other good journals, add those. If you add single articles, make sure you add the link date, using correct formatting.

10. Add 8-10 related WisdomCard topics in the Related WisdomCard section.

11. Write your Guide Note and add inner-linking to other existing WisdomCard topics. Your Guide Note should be based on the content from sites that you included within the 5 Great Resources section.

12. On full WisdomCards, add FAST facts...keep them simple and don't forget to inner-link appropriate topics.

13. Add the RSS feed: Check Topix and Google for the best results, then change More (PAGENAME) News from.. to appropriate site.

14. Add redirects: include common misspellings of a topic or similar/identical terms. Be sure not to redirect the generic name of a drug to the brand name drug Wisdomcard.

15. Check for spelling errors, formatting issues and typos.

16. Complete the self-review checklist prior to submitting your WisdomCard for review.
