Introduction
Being an OrganizedWisdom Guide can be an interesting and informative way to make extra money while helping others find great health information on the Internet. We invite you to join us on our mission to organize the world's health information!
Before You Apply
Physicians: See separate process for Physician Review Board applicants.
Before you apply, be sure you have the necessary resources:
- Reliable PC or Mac and Internet access. High-speed access is not required but will help you produce more work faster.
- Available time each week when you can work uninterrupted.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Experience in Web research.
- Experience with code (HTML or wiki) or willingness to learn.
- Health knowledge or expertise.
- A desire to learn and share knowledge.
Step 1: Register for an OrganizedWisdom Account
We ask that you choose a user name based on your real name. For instance, if your name is Jane Smith, your user name might be JaneS or JSmith or JaneSmith. We also need your real name and an e-mail address for payroll and administrative purposes.
Create an OrganizedWisdom User Account here -- you'll be returned to this page when you're done.
Step 2: Fill out the OrganizedWisdom Guide Application
Please give us as much information as you can about any related experience, whether in paid or volunteer work, that will contribute to your success. OrganizedWisdom Guides need to be self-motivated, well organized, able to discriminate between good and bad information, and able to check their own work. And yes, spelling and attention to detail is very important.

Step 3: Take the Writing Test
After you submit your application, you will be sent to our writing test. Please be sure to read the "Great Research Notes" and "Fast Facts" sections found in the menu to the right of this page. There are also a few basic formatting questions on the writing test -- the answers can all be found in the pages in this right-hand menu.
Please login before taking the test.

After you submit your application and writing test, please be patient! We normally review Guide applications several times a month, but are currently backlogged so may take longer. While you are waiting, you may wish to read How to Create Your First WisdomCard and review the Wisdomcards on the site and recommend great links to WisdomCards to discover more about what we do.
Step 4: Take the Open Book Test
If your writing meets our quality standards, we will email you with a link to our Open Book Formatting Training Test. All the answers are available in our Guide Instructions which can be reached on the right side of this page. This test is designed to help you learn our formatting, not to trip you up -- so just take your time.
Experience with either HTML or wiki coding is helpful, but not required. We will teach you the code you need to know -- you just need to be willing and able to learn.
