Web QA Tester/Jr. Web Designer

OrganizedWisdom Health is the world's first expert guided search service for health. We're a venture-backed company founded by experienced entrepreneurs looking for a passionate Jr. Web Designer and QA Tester to join our team as either a part-time contractor or full-time team member. The ideal candidate has an equal passion for web design and QA testing. This person will be responsible for QAing OrganizedWisdom's Web site and new features and will implement required fixes. This is a growth opportunity position that requires a commitment to self-motivation, detail, and hands-on implementation.

Key Requirements

• 1-2 years Web QA Testing, web design and usability experience
• Hands-on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, cross-browser development
• Eye for detail, intimate familiarity with testing for industry Web standards compliant sites such as W3C
• Some PhotoShop experience highly desired
• Familiarity with Subversion and/or Git (and ticket tracking in Trac)
• Knowledge of Google Analytics (or similar software)
• Ability to work well with team of PHP developers (knowledge of PHP, MediaWiki, or CSS for the iPhone also helpful)
• Expertise in information architecture, simplifying user experience, and clean/elegant design
• Love start-up environment and growth companies that innovate fast
• Want to put your heart and soul into building an exceptional product that will help a lot of people
• Able to learn new tools quickly and often independently with minimal formal training
• Know of tools like Basecamp from 37Signals.com for project management
• Desire and ability to work remotely (we are a 100% virtual company so you can work from anywhere)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for all pre-launch website testing and QA for all site pages and new features.
• Responsible for Cross-Browser Compatibility Checks and Fixes (know your IE6/7 fixes).
• Responsible for checking Website URLs and Web page coding for accuracy, completeness and adherence to design.
• You will be required to work projects in a collaborative distributed environment with designers, developers, and other team members.
• Use Google Analytics and Google Site Optimizer to AB Test and Optimize pages.
• Conduct and review user-testing feedback surveys.
