Organ Donation and Depression

Research Notes on Organ Donation and Depression

Organ donation is the process of removing a healthy organ from a donor and transplanting it into a recipient or patient needing it. There are psychological risks involved for both donor and recipient, such as development of anxiety and depression. Physical and psychological risks should be discussed with the donor and recipient by the transplant team or social worker.
