Although oregano is commonly found in kitchen spice racks across America, it is mostly considered a medicinal plant in the Philippines.1 Oregano has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth and has even been compared to tinidazol, an antibiotic that is commonly used to treat giardiasis.2 It also contains anti-viral properties which help protect against common viruses such as the common cold.3
