Research Notes on Omega-3 for ADD
Omega-3 fatty acids may be helpful for children and adults with ADD. In a study performed by the Massachusetts General Hospital, ADD patients had a reduced amount of manic symptoms.1 Others believe that it is not the omega-3 that helps with ADD and ADHD, but the well balanced diet these patients are getting.2 Omega-3 fatty acids are important for children and adults because of its affects on their neurological function.3 Making sure you get the correct amount of omega-3 in your diet is important whether or not you have ADD.

- Omega-3s can be added to your diet by eating fish such as salmon, through supplements, and through flax seed.3
- Diet, genetics, and environment are all factors that may contribute to ADD and ADHD.4
