Research Notes on Oily Stools
Oily Stools, or steatorrhea, is a term used for a high amount of fat in the stool. Feces may also float due to excess gas, or have an oily appearance and be foul smelling. Oily stools can be caused by several different factors, such as malabsorption, celiac disease, or cystic fibrosis. If you are suffering from oily stools, be sure to see your doctor promptly.1

defects in pancreatic enzymes, and defective mucosal cells.1
