Ocular hypertension is an increase pressure in the eye that is above the range considered normal, usually greater than 21mm Hg. It is a common condition that occurs in 3% to 8% of Americans over the age of 40. Most people with ocular hypertension have no symptoms. Patients diagnosed with ocular hypertension have an increased risk of developing glaucoma.
