Research Notes on Numbness
Numbness and tingling are sensations that can be felt anywhere on the body. These sensations occur most often in the fingers, hands, feet, arms, or legs. Conditions that may cause numbness and tingling include carpal tunnel syndrome, diabetes, stroke, and migraines.1
Fast Facts:
- An area can go numb from sitting in one spot for too long1
- Not to be confused with paralysis, which also causes an inability to move a certain area.2
- Numbness is often preceded by tingling.2
