Novocaine Complications

Research Notes on Novocaine Complications

Novocain is a brand name for procaine. It is an injectable drug used before and during surgical or dental procedures to temporarily numb skin and surrounding tissues. Allergic reaction, chest pain, dizziness or drowsiness, anxiety, nausea, and shaking are side effects of the drug. There are drugs that interact with procaine, so it is important to inform the doctor about medications currently being taken before getting the anesthesia.
