Research Notes on Nortriptyline for Chronic Pain
Nortriptyline is used off-label for the treatment of chronic pain caused by arthritis, fibromyalgia, and other conditions. Although nortriptyline is not FDA approved for this use, some physicians continue to prescribe the medication in this manner to their patients. The exact way that nortriptyline works to relieve chronic pain is unknown.
